Alliance Franaise French Film Festival V1

Are you a movie buff?

Do you like anything that is labeled ‘Made in France’?

Or do you just like to venture on things that excite you regardless of any standard set?

Well, if you want to have an elegant night à la Française, then this is the time to exercise the sweet ‘bonjour’ and ‘merci’ gestures for a spectacular treat. Splendidly celebrating its 28th season, Alliance Francaise waltzes into the Palace Cinemas for the French Film Festival. This 2017, the French Film Festival is taking over Brisbane's two premier cinemas, the Palace Barracks, 5-61 Petrie Terrace, Brisbane City and Palace Centro, 39 James St, Fortitude Valley until Sunday 9 April 2017.

The festival will be screening across 7 cities with a host of thrilling, contemporary movies and documentaries illustrating the very best of France’s effervescent film industry. For its 3-week duration in Brisbane, the festival will feature 45 films in a total of 339 screenings of the finest in French cinema, arranged in a magnificent programme that surpasses romance, adventure, comedy, historical tales, thrillers and dramas which will treat the Australian audience. Some of the films included are The Odyssey, The Dancer, One Man and His Cow, and A Bun in the Oven.

As in past years, actors appearing in the 2017 line-up represent France’s best, such as Daniel Auteuil, Bérénice Béjo, Juliette Binoche, Dany Boon, Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard, François Cluzet, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Frot, to mention just a few. Special events are also lined up for the festival which includes an Opening Night Gala Event, Ladies’ Night, A Taste of France and Closing Night. Brisbane’s schedule can be downloaded in PDF format at http://affestival.blob.core.windows.net/programmes/AF-FFF-17-A6-Programme-Brisbane.pdf. General admission ticket prices for each screening range from: $20 for adults; $17 concession; $15.50 under 25s; and $14.50 for children.
